STATEMENT
My work examines the male body as a site of proximity, instability and negotiation.
I am interested in what happens when masculinity is detached from fixed narratives of strength, sexuality or identity, and instead encountered through weight, touch, distance, dependence and exposure. The body becomes less a subject to be described than a material condition: something that leans, resists, supports, obstructs or merges with another.
Across staged and domestic situations, I work with the tension between physical closeness and emotional opacity. Intimacy can coexist with detachment, vulnerability with control, tenderness with ambiguity.
Through framing, movement and spatial dislocation, the body shifts between individual figure, structure and mass. Rather than resolving these tensions, the work remains suspended between intimacy and estrangement, autonomy and dependence, recognition and uncertainty.
